The zoo

Can you see the necklace that Makenzie is wearing? It's a carved whale tail (she got it at Sea World and wears it almost everyday) she wants to work with whales, dolphins and penguins at Sea World when she grows up, she also wants to be an OU cheerleader, a doctor and a famous artist. I told her she could be anything that she set her mind to and I do believe she may achieve it...she's such a "go getter".

Kylan found a little friend and was playing with him and insisted that I put him on the blog!

Kylan's shirt says, "Homeschool Rocks"
Kylan loves animals so much and acutally wants to be a zoo keeper when he grows up!

This little penguin was so cute and was showing off for us!
Dad posed with the kids for a birthday picture!

Today Kevin was off of work for his birthday which is actually tomorrow but we decided to go to the Tulsa zoo and it was such a spectacular day! Perfect weather and a bunch of animals were out.

Girls club

Makenzie goes to a Girls Club once per month on Mondays. She loves this club and they are earning charms for a charm bracelet kinda like Girl Scouts earn badges. Anyway the 6 things they are working on right now are a Prayer journal, crocheting, cake decorating, library skills, croquet and community service projects. For community service they had done a bunch of differnt things like made crafts for a nursing home, made cards for the military that are in Iraq, picked up trash in the area, planted flowers at a church and they are looking for more ideas.

The answer to the photo question

Yes, Sarah and Chris are correct it's Grandma Penny or as the kids call her Gigi! She's almost 80 yrs old but still lives life to the fullest and is always doing something fun! Her friend Curt took her on this motorcycle ride up into Wild Cat Canyon and then back around into Durango and Bayfield, CO...if you know the area you know that wildcat canyon is really twistey roads and lots of hills and would be really fun and Grandma just LOVED it!!! I hope I am still going strong like that when I am 80 yrs old!!!

Easy bake oven

Today after we finished school Makenzie decided to bake a cake and some cookies in her Easy Bake Oven. I loved mine when I was little so when she asks I feel like a kid again but boy are those cookies and cakes tiny! Thanks to Sheash she also has the Easy Bake Oven mixer and blender...we didn't even know they existed but they are so fun! Of course the kids ate the cookies and cake before I could get a picture of them.

High School Musical

One of the homeschool groups that the kids are involved in is going to do a song and dance from High School Musical. Tuesday was one of the practices and they were all so cute....uhm I mean cool. Kylan informed me that teenagers and boys are not cute just cool!

Connie's cakes

Several of you have asked who made that adorable giraff birthday cake...it was my SIL Connie. Here are some more of her cakes...they are all so cute...if you need one let me know and I will get you her info!

When love takes you in ~ Steven Curtis Chapman

For those of you that have been touched by adoption this will have special meaning to you and if you haven't been touched by adoption please check out this video anyway...everytime I see it I remember that first moment when we held Makenzie in our arms and then the first moment that I held Kylan in my arms...it's something that changed our lives and theirs forever and of course we are going to love them forever...therefore we are a "Forever family".

Favorite photos (in color this time)

Several of you have emailed or called and asked where we take our pics...usually Woodward Park in Tulsa (these are from 2006)....they have beautiful flowers, trees, streams...a small cave (Kylan likes it). We usually take a picnic...we do pictures first then eat and play. Last year we were in Colorado so I decided to take their pics in CO and I was pleased with how they turned out. Sometime this week I am hoping that the wind will calm down a little so we can go on our photo adventure...the kids really like to ham it up sometimes and sometimes they are just really easy to photograph like the photos I just posted.

Devin really liked the Wii.

On Thursday we went with our homeschool group to see the movie Horton hears a Who. It was really funny. Then, we came home and I started moving things around in the school room and some how I hurt my back! OUCH!!! I think it's a pulled muscle but I didn't make it to the Dr.'s so I don't know for sure.

This weekend we had the family game day/Birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Friends from Iowa were here and all of the family that lives in the area. We played teh Wii and they had a game of dominoes going and I think Kellee won.

We are trying to decided on a date for the next game night....if you didn't make it to this one please come to the next one!!!! We would LOVE to have you join us. The food was yummy but the cake and especially the pies were the yummiest....Connie send me the recipe please.

Great Blog Hunt

OK bloggers, I have found this fun blog hunt....I stayed up wayyyyyy tooo late last night trying to find all of the clues (I got stuck on fussypants...she's a hoot) and finally had to give up and go to bed so I could wake up with my sweet lil ones and make sure they had a fun day at homeschool.
Anyway, here is the info if you want to participate! Leave a comment and let me know how you did on the GREAT BLOG HUNT!!!
All you have to do is go the Great Blog Hunt website and follow the instructions which will take you on a fun scavenger hunt around blogland. Each of the participating blogs will have a clue, obvious or hidden, on their website that will give the participant an “item” from their site. It will obviously not be a physical object, but a picture of something that represents the site. The participant is then directed to the next site on the hunt to find another object. To complete the hunt simply email all the items to finish@greatbloghunt.com by May 2nd and the winner will be chosen at random from all the entries.

Photography

Every year I take the kids out and we have our own photography session. It's that time of the year again...spring is upon us and the flowers are blooming. If the wind would slow down then we could actually get some decent pictures. I just wanted to share my all time favorite photo that I have taken of Makenzie...it was with b/w film...before we had a digital camera and also before Kylan. She was only about 22 months old and such a cutie...actually I took this the day before I left for Korea to pick Kylan up!

And this is my all time favorite pic that I took of Kylan it was a staged pic for fall 2004.

and the one of them walking on the beach in Hawaii together is also a favorite. I seem to like the black and whites the best!

I will have to look back through my photos that aren't black and white and post my favorites!

Do any of you have some pics that are absolutely your favorites...why don't you share them on your blog...I would love to see them! Leave me a comment so I can check them out!
