Osage Hills State Park

The famous hot hamburger with gravy over all.

After pigging out on some yummy Murphy's Steakhouse hot hamburgers we decided to do a little hiking and check out Osage Hills State Park. It was gorgeous even in the dead of winter so we can just imagine how beautiful it will be in the fall, summer and spring. Enjoy our slide show...it's a long one!

New Zealand how I miss you!

One of my all time favorite places that I've ever traveled to is New Zealand! My 1st year of college my grandma took me on a trip to NZ and we had the BEST time. If you want to see one of the most beautiful places on earth just take a trip around to the other side of the world and there is NZ. Some of my favorite memories were driving our tour bus on 90 mile beach (yes, I drove it), jetting on the Shotover, snorkeling at the Bay of Island, exploring Kelly Tarlton's underwater world, we stayed on a real sheep farm bed and breakfast, and one of my all time favorite things was riding the helicopter in Queenstown. When I returned from NZ Kevin asked me to marry him and the rest is history! I'm hoping that Kevin and I will get to travel to NZ some day so I can show him some of my favorite spots. I've told Kevin for years that if I could move to NZ I would! The people were amazing and so friendly, the country was beautiful, gorgeous beaches, aqua water and everything was so clean!

These are not my videos, just ones that I found...but they give you a great idea of how much fun these activities are!

Brooms, brooms and more brooms

It seems that everywhere I look I am seeing adorable brooms! Why is that? If we have a cute broom will it make us want to use it more??? HMMMM, there might be something to that line of thinking, LOL. Check out this tutorial on how to paint a cute broom.
I also love the animal print brooms at Kaboodle
Check out Yep, you should even mod podge a broom at Mod Podge Rocks, I'm thinking about doing this to my very old broom, I bought it over 18 yrs ago when Kevin and I were engaged.
Of course we can head over to Martha Stewart to help us organize our broom closet.
Here are some more links to really cute brooms
Jennifer Lyn super cute brooms, I'm thinking about buying the Deco Print Broom
No Ordinary Broom these brooms are STUNNINGLY beautiful!
Do you have a cute broom? Where did you get it? Did you buy it or make it? Let me know, I'm a little obsessed with brooms right now! LOL!!!

Waiting to ride in the freight elevator

A week ago we had my all time favorite field trip to the Tulsa Performing Arts Center or TPAC. Our guide took us backstage, to the green room, all of the different Theaters, up a freight elevator and last but not least up to the spot light room. It was so interesting and I think Kevin and I enjoyed it more then the kids did! I was so upset with myself because I walked out of the house without my camera!!! Can you believe it??? Of all things to forget and on this particular day it had to be my camera. My good friend Christy told me that I could use some of her pics so all pics are from Christy, or Melanie or maybe even Jennifer (ladies I hope you forgive me for copying your photos but I do feel much better since I have some photos of this experience!)

Elsing Mueseum

Have you ever found something in your town that you've never heard of? I've lived in the Tulsa area for over 20 years and my husband has lived here for over 30 years and neither of us has ever heard about the Elsing Museum at ORU. I research a lot of different things for our home school projects and when we were studying rocks and minerals this museum NEVER came up in my search engine. It's crazy because this was an AMAZING museum and it was all one man's collection, yes 1 man collected all of it by himself, we were astounded that he did this by himself. If you are in the Tulsa area and want to see some beautiful rocks and minerals then head over to ORU, you can also see the Prayer Gardens and the Prayer Tower plus those huge praying hands!

Perfect Brownie Baking Kit

Last year for Christmas Kylan really wanted to buy the Perfect Brownie Baking Set for me but I really wanted a handmade gift from him, I just love getting handmade gifts from the kids, I treasure them! So for my birthday he was determined that I was getting the Perfect Brownie Baking Set, so I obliged him and ordered it for my birthday from Kylan! He was soooo excited about my birthday gift from him and we had to make brownies with it! It was super easy to use and they came out perfect! I rate it 2 thumbs up and would recommend it to others. All of the brownies were cut perfectly and were the same size and consistency. The patent pending design of the Perfect Brownie™ Baking Pan bakes each piece separately so they are flakey and crispy on the outside, but rich and gooey on the inside.

I had a question about the cleanup and I have to tell you that it's super simple because you spray it with Pam before baking and everything just slips off the brownie set and then it's dishwasher safe so I just put it in the dishwasher and that was the end! I'm not saying that in this economy you need this but if you want it, it does work and it works well. Of course it's just as easy to slice up a pan of brownies with a butter knife too, LOL!

AKC Nationals

Our little dog Trix is a Welsh Corgi and he's so lazy, we had no idea they could run and jump like this. The kids think we need to start training him to be in an agility trial but I don't want to!
Enjoying the dogs and all they kept saying is ohhh that one looks like Trix, that one like Bella and that one like Gigi ohhh there's one that looks like Scruffy.

Yesterday we found out that the AKC Nationals agility trials were going to be in Tulsa at Expo so we had to go and check it out. We decided one of our goals for 2010 was to not be stuck in a rut and always do the same things that we've always done. We decided to branch out this year and try new things and experience different aspects of life so that's why you've seen us trying out museums, geocaching, and a dog show! What else can we try? Do you have a hobby you LOVE let us know about it!!!
