Tall Grass Prairie

While staying at Osage Hills State Park we decided to take a small day trip to Pawhuska, OK and visit the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve it was so fitting since we have been using the Prairie Primer curriculum this year, we had a lot of things to talk about and study while at the preserve. My favorite things was the buffalo and of course since we have studied them we found out that their true name is bison not buffalo. They had over 2600 bison just wondering around on the prairie and it was beautiful with the baby calves running around...we loved it.

Stuart Park

One day we decided to go check out Gilcrease Museum again. It had been several years since we have visited Gilcrease, I think it was when Makenzie had some of her art shown at the museum. Anyway, it's been too long so we went on homeschoolers day because homeschool families get in for free! We parked in the North parking lot and started walking and saw Stuart Park and decided to go explore. We never made it into the museum because this park was so beautiful and we got a little geocaching in while we were enjoying the beautiful park and of course I took a bunch of photos!

AKC Nationals

Our little dog Trix is a Welsh Corgi and he's so lazy, we had no idea they could run and jump like this. The kids think we need to start training him to be in an agility trial but I don't want to!

Enjoying the dogs and all they kept saying is ohhh that one looks like Trix, that one like Bella and that one like Gigi ohhh there's one that looks like Scruffy.

Yesterday we found out that the AKC Nationals agility trials were going to be in Tulsa at Expo so we had to go and check it out. We decided one of our goals for 2010 was to not be stuck in a rut and always do the same things that we've always done. We decided to branch out this year and try new things and experience different aspects of life so that's why you've seen us trying out museums, geocaching, and a dog show! What else can we try?
