Sharing from my heart:
This book came at the perfect time.  My husband and I have been married for almost 30 years, our 30th anniversary will be on Sept 5th, 2022 and yes sometimes life does just fall into a routine and we start taking each other for granted.  This book really can help put the magic, mystery and spark back into your marriage.  It's time to shake things up and start flirting with each other again, making an effort to actually go on dates instead of sitting in front of the TV and igniting passion back into our marriage.  Yes, after 30 years or may only 30 days for some of you, we can get that spark back and have a deeper emotional and physical connection.
In this book I found several key points such as the following:

-You can't wait for the perfect time to work on your marriage, that time is now!
-Yes, you can tease positively and not make fun of each other.
-Overcome your fear of rejection
-Does the Bible encourage women to nurture our marital chemistry?
-Easy ways to find romance and intimacy that most of us crave.

So this book is really for anyone that's already married or even engaged. I think everyone will find value in it and pull out some nuggets of useful information that you can apply to your everyday life.

My daughter and her boyfriend just recently gave each other promise rings for Christmas and when she comes home to visit (she's in the USMC right now) I plan on talking to her about many things l learned in this book. I had the sex talk with my kids, and as they were growing up we tried to teach them to be decent husband and/or wives to their spouses but I never thought to talk to them about how sometimes a marriage can get stale or boring. Hopefully, this will help keep my kids and their spouses marriages alive, fulfilling and happy.

Kevin's accident

Kevin was hurt in a UPS accident today. He fell off his truck and onto his back but the kicker is his shoulder blade hit a curb so he ended up shattering his scapula. He was in so much pain and his supervisor came out to his route and made him tell his supervisor where all the rest of his stops were. They refused him medical attention until his route was completed. That my friends is a bunch of crap!  Kevin ended up passing out next to his truck and was in shock and hurting for the rest of the day. By the time I found out I was off work and it was like 6pm. So, I raced over to the emergency room so I could be with him. His supervisor was there but was not nice to me at all and then he up and left. I'm telling you this is a hot mess! Poor guy, it took all night in the ER before we were able to finally get home.  If you think about Kevin please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, he definitely needs them.

While we were in the ER we saw several people wearing masks, they looked really sick and coughing a lot. We were wondering if they have that new thing going around. It's called coronavius. Have you heard of it?  We saw piles of bodies on the news. People in China have been dying from this new virus. It's kinda scary but you know in our minds we keep thinking it's way over in China so it'll never get here. Pretty certain it'll make it's way over here to the USA eventually. I mean I hope not but they way people travel and don't take precautions it'll probably spread like wildfire.

OVERCOMER-COMING TO BLU-RAY AND DVD DEC 17, 2019

My husband and I were supposed to go see OVERCOMER on opening night with some friends from church but my Father in Law was put in the hospital after a massive heart attack while he was on a vacation in Canada.  He had to take an air ambulance home to Oklahoma and he arrived on opening night. So needless to say, we never made it to see the movie but I heard it was the best Kendrick brothers movie so far.  I'm looking forward to seeing it when it comes out on DVD 12/17/2019.  They're even offering a DVD gift set featuring 6 of the Kendrick Brothers most acclaimed movies, and it's exclusively at Wal-Mart. Sounds like a wonderful Christmas gift if you're looking for any ideas. I'ts also very family friendly and could bring about some great family bonding time and discussions around the dinner table. You definietly don't want to miss this one, there's something for everyone, faith, family, sports.

Have you seen the movie already? If so, leave me a comment and tell me what you thought?  Was it indeed the best one yet? What spoke to you? How did it change your life?

United States Marine Corps

Kevin and I were on a Caribbean cruise and we received a phone call from Kenzie. She wanted to let us know she had just joined the United States Marine Corp and would be leaving for bootcamp at the end of the summer. We were shocked! I advised her not to sign anything until we returned home.  Too late, she's already signed everything and had been to Oklahoma City for MAPS testing.  She really wanted to get a high enough score to get into the intelligence program. Thankfully, she scored very high and was able to get into the MOS that she wanted.
After everything went down she ended up getting into bootcamp in May of 2019 and we didn't see her and only heard from her two times while she was gone.  We proudly headed to Parris Island, South Carolina on August 13th, 2019. She graduated bootcamp on Kylan's 18th birthday August 15th, 2019 and we were able to take her back to Tulsa with us. She stayed for about 9 days. Life as we knew it with our girl was forever changed and she headed out to Camp Pendleton in San Diego, California. She stayed there for a little over a month for MCT-Marine Combat Training and then she went to Dam Neck Naval Base for her MOS schoolhouse training. She was there several months until she finished her training and then she got to pick her base. She picked Okinawa, Japan and she got her top choice. So very proud of her! During all of this she kept a great attitude and even told us how much she enjoyed the Crucible during bootcamp. If you don't know what the Crucible is then I'll give you a snapshot of what they do.

It's the start of a crazy year!

First off I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

Next, just wanted to update you on everything that's going on with my family.  It's going to be a crazy ride for 2019.
Makenzie's life-
Kenzie had a wonderful senior year with homeschooling, our Aspire group and all of her friends.  She was voted as prom Queen at the Tulsa Area Homeschool Prom, and Kevin and I were there to see her crowned since we helped chaperone and with the prom details.  We were all so shocked but proud of her. She graduated in May of 2018 and has been going to college to pursue her dream of becoming a biomedical engineer.  We're so excited for her and can't to see what God has in store for her life. We took her and Kylan on a graduation cruise in August 2018 and met up with our dear friends from MA-The Gaj family.  I'll post cruise pics later on and tell the story of planning it 10 years previously...it was WONDERFUL!

Senior pics were taken by a fellow homeschooler Abby Grace and here's a link to her photography page if you want to book her!

Kylan's life-

Kylan has decided to graduate early. He was supposed to graduate in 2020 but he's stepping up and getting it done early.  He'll be graduating May 2019 just one year behind his older sister. At this time he's looking into culinary school.  Let me tell you if you get to eat some of his yummy food you're in for a wonderful treat! He still hasn't decided on a school yet, we've been taking the tours and so far he likes OSU IT in Muskogee, OK.  Kylan took his friend Sarah to the prom and they danced the night away, fun times were had by all!

Kevin's life-

Kevin decided to go to UPS big rig truck driving school and he ended up not liking the nightime hour so he's back to driving a package car.  He did enjoy driving the semi's but the hours were crazy since his body was used to waking up every day at about the same time and heading in to drive the package car.  He's done that for over 25 years now!

and last but not least

Jennifer's life-

Well, now that my homeschool mom life has almost come to an end...yes, I'm very sad about that.  I have some big news. I've been sending out applications to all the different airlines. I really want to be a flight attendant and travel the world.  I'm keeping my options open but my number one pick starts with a D so we'll see how that goes. Gotta get Kylan graduated first and then I can work on me. I've already had some interviews and hoping for more.  Wish me luck! I've wanted to be a flight attendant since I was a little girl and my sister and I flew by ourselves and a flight attendant was really nice to us. It made a big impact on me and I made the decision that some day I'd just go for it!

Beloved 365 Devotions for Young Women

Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women (Review) | Rani's ...

Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women:

Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women is the newest devotional from Zondervan by Lindsay A. Franklin.
It addresses some of the most important topics to young women of today: relationships, inner beauty, fears, doubts, and chasing dreams.
This devotional gives teen girls great women role models from the Bible to admire and learn from as they grow and understand who they are.

Sharing from my heart:
Just recently we've lost a young friend to suicide and I wish I had shared this devotional with her, I think it could have helped her. I know she was searching for truth and guidance as she dealt with the daily struggles of her freshman year of college. Unfortunately, we will never know exactly what she was going through.  I feel if she could have read this devotional and spoken with someone her death could have been prevented.

This devotional is easy to read and takes you through inspiring stories from women of the Bible such as
Ruth, Esther, Hannah, Mary, and Abigail. Esther has always been so encouraging to me ever since I heard her story as a young girl. I appreciate that she was included in the devotional.
One thing I really appreciate is the fact that you get short, but relevant daily devotions with a space to journal as well as an attached bookmark in this 365 day hardback devotional.

Giveaway of Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women:

Leave a comment on here or my Facebook page letting me know which of these inspiring women from the Bible that encourage you or are you hero.

Can You Believe It?

HillsongKids_CanYouBelieveIt_CDCover.jpg

About Can You Believe It?:

“Can You Believe It!? - Songs of Truth” is both a question and a challenge... a statement of gratitude to a loving God and an invitation to explore the very foundations of faith. Classic songs like “My Best Friend”, “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” and “What A Beautiful Name” join brand new declarations of faith such as “As The World Shakes” & “Heaven Is Our Home”. We pray that this collection of fun and vibrant songs, help children around the world to declare biblical truths about God’s love and grace for them.

Bio:
Hillsong believes that teaching children to love God and others takes
place in both the home
and in the church. For this reason they seek to partner with parents
(the greatest teachers of all!)
and with church pastors and leaders, equipping them with great resources.
Through fun
experiences, meaningful music and ministry that encourages kids
to participate, Hillsong Kids
presents Jesus Christ and His Church in a relevant way, creating moments
which children
will never forget.

Sharing from my heart:

I've always been a big fan of Hillsong so I was excited to review this DVD of
Hillsong Kids. I was blown away by the energetic videos, wonderful graphics and
inspiring songs. I absolutely LOVE Oceans (Where feet may fail) it's my all time
favorite song and every time I hear it I get lost in it and cast all my cares on the
Lord. So, you know I listen to it a lot! I was so excited to see it on this DVD.
We actually have a friend that's currently living in Australia and going to the
Hillsong college so Hillsong holds an extra special place in our heart for Noah. I
don't think older kids would enjoy this DVD but younger children will be delighted
and enjoy praising God and singing along with all the lyrics and fun dances.
Here's a list of the songs you'll find on this DVD

I Give You My Hallelujah
Ask Seek Knock
This is Living
Who You Say I Am
My Best Friend
Voices of Freedom
Oceans (Where feet may fail)
Little Life (For you Jesus)
Made In Your Image
We Came to Meet With You
As the World Shakes
Heaven is Our Home
What a Beautiful Name
You Know Me

Ellie Claire Art Journals

Ellie Claire

Today, I'll be reviewing these three gorgeous art, lettering and coloring journals from Ellie Claire.  I was thrilled when these arrived because I've recently wanted to start learning how to do lettering. I almost bought several lettering books but just haven't found the right one yet. Cue in Ellie Claire, I'm kind of a perfectionist so just getting started makes me want to break out in hives or have a panic attack because I know my lettering won't be perfect to start with. Do any of you feel the same way?  Well, we're in this together now and I'm jumping in with both feet...actually both hands.

Illuminate Your Story Journal
Illuminate Your Story Journal

DESCRIPTION:

Learn to create your own beautiful illuminated letters with this how-to journal.

Use the almost-lost art of illuminating letters to enhance your writing, Bible journaling, or sermon note-taking. Rich illustrated manuscripts in the Museum of the Bible’s collection inspired these gorgeous letters. Easy to follow instructions, practice pages, and encouragements guide you through the creation of amazing start letters, flourishes, and more.

I started off with the smaller 6x8 journal called Illuminate Your Story Journal. It's a creamy white with teal accents and beautiful finishes including a place to hold your pen, an elastic band to keep your journal shut when you're not using it, a bookmark, foil lettering and a Keepsakes pocket.

Each page has been beautifully illustrated with color as well as black and white with ample space to practice. As you can tell I'm definitely a newbie at this but practice makes perfect so I'll keep practicing everyday until I'm better. One issue I had was that my journal would not lay totally flat and I did find that to be a problem when trying to practice. I'm sure the more I do it the easier it will be to get around that little hump in the middle of the book. I did really like that there are many different styles or fonts  to practice for each letter.

Included are animals and different swirls and embellishments.
Many inspiring quotes are sprinkled throughout the entire journal.  This is one of my favorites from Abraham Lincoln.

One thing I really liked about all three journals was how thick the pages were.  I used many different types of pens, markers and colored pencils and the only one that bled through a little bit was the sharpie marker.

If you look closely you can see that the Sharpie did bleed through slightly but hey it's a Sharpie! I was really please that some of my favorite journaling pens did not bleed through at all.

Next up is the Illustrated Word-an illuminated Bible Coloring Journal

The Illustrated Word

The Illustrated Word

DESCRIPTION:

Create your own masterpiece with this journal that has forty glorious illustrations from ancient manuscripts that have been recreated as line drawings. Just as medieval monks brought Scripture to life through intricate inked illustrations in handwritten manuscripts hundreds of years ago, you can now create your own stunning keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.

This coloring journal was so captivating and piqued my kids interest since we've been study art history in homeschool this year.  They poured over this journal and started looking up everything they could about the different illustrations.  We learned quite a bit about the Old Parchment Esther Scroll and the Hours and Psalter of Elizabeth de Bohun among many other parchments and art.
What I loved was the smaller picture and then the large illustration that we could color right next to it and scriptures pages were included.

The pages are still very thick and did not bleed through at all when I used paint, markers, crayons and colored pencils. I did not try a sharpie on these pages but it's the same weight of paper so I assume there might be some bleeding if sharpies were used.

Last but not least the Faith & Lettering Journal

Faith & Lettering Journal

Faith & Lettering Journal

DESCRIPTION:

New from professional letterer Krystal Whitten! With guides, instructions, and tutorials, this is a fun and inspiring way to create beauty with words. It is the perfect place for journalers to practice Bible journaling, lettering quotes and verses, or decorating a page with original thoughts and plans. Exploring your God-given creativity has never been so rewarding.

OK this was what I've been looking for! I need help learning how to do fancy or fun lettering and like I previously said, "I"m a perfectionist." So that makes me not even want to get started because I know I'll be messing up a bunch.

Guess what??? There's a begin here section and then a trace section and then your turn section and then practice, practice, practice
It's really EXACTLY what I needed! The begin here I went over with pencil several times just to get the hang of it and then I grabbed a marker and started tracing and yes I will be moving on to the practice part today, I promise. The pages are still very thick and did not bleed through at all when I used markers, and colored pencils. I did not try a sharpie on these pages but it's the same paper weight as the other 2 journals. I assume there might be some bleeding if sharpies were used.  There's also a pen loop on this journal.  Go grab one or all of them and get started!  Links will take you directly to the Worthy Publishing pages where you can learn more or follow links to purchase all of the journals.

Thanks for reading,

I did receive 3 free journals but the review is all me and my opinions!
