Grace Unplugged-movie review

Tonight a friend and I headed out for dinner and to pre-screen the movie Grace Unplugged.  I watched the trailer that you see right up above my writing.  Just from the trailer I was pretty sure it was going to be a movie that I could connect with but I was blown away, this movie hit me hard.  As a young teen I loved the Lord and wanted to serve Him but as I got older things came up like movies, parties, friends, and of course boys.  I never totally turned my back on Him but I knew that the things I was doing weren't right and that they didn't please my parents or the Lord.  Now, as a parent I see the other side.  All I want is to raise my children up to love the Lord with all their heart, to serve Him and to follow Him.  This movie would make the perfect mommy/daughter date to open up a conversation with your teen about what their hopes and dreams are for their future and what your hopes and dreams are for their future.  They may not always look the same but they don't have to go to the extremes that Grace went to in the movie.

The cast in Grace Unplugged was pretty amazing and I'd like to share a little bit more about them!

AJ Michalka
AJ Michalka who plays Grace is multi-talented.  You might remember her as one of the daughter's in the movie Secretariat.

James Denton
James Denton who plays Johnny (the dad) is well known for his role in the hit series Desperate Housewives.

Michael Welch
Michael Welch is well known for playing Mike in the Twilight Saga.

Kevin Pollak
Kevin Pollack's most notable roles are in Avalon, Ricochet, A Few Good Men, The Usual Suspects, Casino, Deterrence, End of Days, The Whole Nine Yards, and The Wedding Planner.

Chris Tomlin
Chris Tomlin plays himself.  According to Time Magazine, more than 40 million people sing the songs of Chris Tomlin each week. He has ten No. 1 radio singles, three GRAMMY nominations, 18 Dove Awards, one platinum and three gold albums to his credit. His beloved worship songs include anthems such as "Forever," "Indescribable," and "How Great is Our God."

Jamie Grace
Jamie Grace that plays Rachel and is a young singer-songwriter from Atlanta whose debut single "Hold Me," featuring TobyMac, landed her a nomination at the 2012 Grammy Awards, where she was the youngest nominee. That year, she was also nominated for a Billboard Award and four Dove Awards. She earned the Dove Awards New Artist of the Year.

Brad J. Silverman
At the screening we were fortunate to meet writer and director Brad J Silverman.  He shared some God moments that happened will making the movie and it was a pleasure to listen to him speak about his vision for Christian movies.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Oct 4-6th  Grace Unplugged opening weekend.  Take the whole family, invite friends, get a church group together and head out to see Grace Unplugged!
