Punky Monkey Missions

Ok, so I may be just a tad bit biased because Punky Monkey is my daughter and hey this IS my blog so I have to brag on her a little bit (or maybe a lot). Here is a little bit of what she has done this past year
~She has been raising money for different missionaries over the past couple of years and has helped short term missions in Uganda, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, India, Brazil and Thailand and long term missions in Korea and China by donating money every month to a missionary.
~She made baby hats(and had others help her too) for Easter Social Welfare Society in Seoul, South Korea. This is the place that helped care for both Makenzie and Kylan while they were in Korea.
~She has helped raise money for several adoption to help bring babies home from Ethiopia, South Korea, and China.
~She has made hundreds of hats and scarves for the homeless and needy.
~Prays for friends, family, friends we know that are in the adoption process, missionaries and homeless on a daily basis.
~Always has a smile on her face and a happy heart to help in any situation that others ask for her help.
~She was asked to become an Oklahoma Star for the Miss Oklahoma pageant this past summer and the first thing out of her mouth was, "I can reach so many more people now with my Punky Monkey Missions platform".
~She has been going to gyms, churches and restaurants in the area and asking for their Lost and Found items and then washing them and separating by size and then donating them to local homeless shelters.
~She makes scarves, hats, flower clips, domino necklaces, greeting cards, gives mini pedis and manis, watches children, walks dogs, or anything she can think of to help raise money for Punky Monkey Missions.
~Currently she is collecting plastic bags like Wal-Mart, Target, Justice, Dollar General, etc and is making plarn (plastic yarn) out of the bags and then crocheting them into sleeping mats for the homeless.  We are very thankful for all of the help from our church Discovery Bible Fellowship, the Girls Club of Owasso/Collinsville, all of the IMOM's in the Owasso area, friends, family and the Sigma Phi Lambda Sorority(Sisters for the Lord) at UCO that have helped us with the collection of plastic bags and with their encouragement to Punky Monkey!
~This summer she's going on a mission trip to Ethiopia to help minister to orphans with One Child Campaign and The Legacy Project.
~Another current project is making Blessed to Bless bags for the homeless, it's a gallon size ziplock bag stuffed full of items that they will need like toothpaste, toothbrushes, packets of tuna, peanut butter and crackers, gloves, scarves, hats, etc for a full list click here.
~Over the past couple of months she has had to learn to start overcoming her shyness to help get the word out about Punky Monkey Missions because The Owasso Reporter, Collinsville, News, Justice for Girls and the News on 6 have all interviewed her, she still struggles with shyness but is getting better with each interview.

Please pray for her! I love to see her working so hard to help others and not asking for anything in return but I don't want her to lose her fire to help others, so any and all encouragement will help stoke that fire inside of her.  If you are interested in helping with any projects please let us know!  Also, grab her button on the side and help us spread the word about Punky Monkey Missions!

You have got a gem in that girl. And, there's no way she would be the way she is if it weren't for her parents who encourage her and enable her to do these things. You all are an awesome family.

I've been saving plastic bags for her.

What a precious little princess you have there! Clearly she loves the Lord and has His heart of compassion. Now that's enough to make any Mommy smile from ear to ear.

Following you from a Thursday blog hop. Have a fantastic weekend.
