Beloved 365 Devotions for Young Women

Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women (Review) | Rani's ...

Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women:

Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women is the newest devotional from Zondervan by Lindsay A. Franklin.
It addresses some of the most important topics to young women of today: relationships, inner beauty, fears, doubts, and chasing dreams.
This devotional gives teen girls great women role models from the Bible to admire and learn from as they grow and understand who they are.

Sharing from my heart:
Just recently we've lost a young friend to suicide and I wish I had shared this devotional with her, I think it could have helped her. I know she was searching for truth and guidance as she dealt with the daily struggles of her freshman year of college. Unfortunately, we will never know exactly what she was going through.  I feel if she could have read this devotional and spoken with someone her death could have been prevented.

This devotional is easy to read and takes you through inspiring stories from women of the Bible such as
Ruth, Esther, Hannah, Mary, and Abigail. Esther has always been so encouraging to me ever since I heard her story as a young girl. I appreciate that she was included in the devotional.
One thing I really appreciate is the fact that you get short, but relevant daily devotions with a space to journal as well as an attached bookmark in this 365 day hardback devotional.

Giveaway of Beloved: 365 Devotions for Young Women:

Leave a comment on here or my Facebook page letting me know which of these inspiring women from the Bible that encourage you or are you hero.

Can You Believe It?

HillsongKids_CanYouBelieveIt_CDCover.jpg

About Can You Believe It?:

“Can You Believe It!? - Songs of Truth” is both a question and a challenge... a statement of gratitude to a loving God and an invitation to explore the very foundations of faith. Classic songs like “My Best Friend”, “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” and “What A Beautiful Name” join brand new declarations of faith such as “As The World Shakes” & “Heaven Is Our Home”. We pray that this collection of fun and vibrant songs, help children around the world to declare biblical truths about God’s love and grace for them.

Bio:
Hillsong believes that teaching children to love God and others takes
place in both the home
and in the church. For this reason they seek to partner with parents
(the greatest teachers of all!)
and with church pastors and leaders, equipping them with great resources.
Through fun
experiences, meaningful music and ministry that encourages kids
to participate, Hillsong Kids
presents Jesus Christ and His Church in a relevant way, creating moments
which children
will never forget.

Sharing from my heart:

I've always been a big fan of Hillsong so I was excited to review this DVD of
Hillsong Kids. I was blown away by the energetic videos, wonderful graphics and
inspiring songs. I absolutely LOVE Oceans (Where feet may fail) it's my all time
favorite song and every time I hear it I get lost in it and cast all my cares on the
Lord. So, you know I listen to it a lot! I was so excited to see it on this DVD.
We actually have a friend that's currently living in Australia and going to the
Hillsong college so Hillsong holds an extra special place in our heart for Noah. I
don't think older kids would enjoy this DVD but younger children will be delighted
and enjoy praising God and singing along with all the lyrics and fun dances.
Here's a list of the songs you'll find on this DVD

I Give You My Hallelujah
Ask Seek Knock
This is Living
Who You Say I Am
My Best Friend
Voices of Freedom
Oceans (Where feet may fail)
Little Life (For you Jesus)
Made In Your Image
We Came to Meet With You
As the World Shakes
Heaven is Our Home
What a Beautiful Name
You Know Me

Ellie Claire Art Journals

Ellie Claire

Today, I'll be reviewing these three gorgeous art, lettering and coloring journals from Ellie Claire.  I was thrilled when these arrived because I've recently wanted to start learning how to do lettering. I almost bought several lettering books but just haven't found the right one yet. Cue in Ellie Claire, I'm kind of a perfectionist so just getting started makes me want to break out in hives or have a panic attack because I know my lettering won't be perfect to start with. Do any of you feel the same way?  Well, we're in this together now and I'm jumping in with both feet...actually both hands.

Illuminate Your Story Journal
Illuminate Your Story Journal

DESCRIPTION:

Learn to create your own beautiful illuminated letters with this how-to journal.

Use the almost-lost art of illuminating letters to enhance your writing, Bible journaling, or sermon note-taking. Rich illustrated manuscripts in the Museum of the Bible’s collection inspired these gorgeous letters. Easy to follow instructions, practice pages, and encouragements guide you through the creation of amazing start letters, flourishes, and more.

I started off with the smaller 6x8 journal called Illuminate Your Story Journal. It's a creamy white with teal accents and beautiful finishes including a place to hold your pen, an elastic band to keep your journal shut when you're not using it, a bookmark, foil lettering and a Keepsakes pocket.

Each page has been beautifully illustrated with color as well as black and white with ample space to practice. As you can tell I'm definitely a newbie at this but practice makes perfect so I'll keep practicing everyday until I'm better. One issue I had was that my journal would not lay totally flat and I did find that to be a problem when trying to practice. I'm sure the more I do it the easier it will be to get around that little hump in the middle of the book. I did really like that there are many different styles or fonts  to practice for each letter.

Included are animals and different swirls and embellishments.
Many inspiring quotes are sprinkled throughout the entire journal.  This is one of my favorites from Abraham Lincoln.

One thing I really liked about all three journals was how thick the pages were.  I used many different types of pens, markers and colored pencils and the only one that bled through a little bit was the sharpie marker.

If you look closely you can see that the Sharpie did bleed through slightly but hey it's a Sharpie! I was really please that some of my favorite journaling pens did not bleed through at all.

Next up is the Illustrated Word-an illuminated Bible Coloring Journal

The Illustrated Word

The Illustrated Word

DESCRIPTION:

Create your own masterpiece with this journal that has forty glorious illustrations from ancient manuscripts that have been recreated as line drawings. Just as medieval monks brought Scripture to life through intricate inked illustrations in handwritten manuscripts hundreds of years ago, you can now create your own stunning keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.

This coloring journal was so captivating and piqued my kids interest since we've been study art history in homeschool this year.  They poured over this journal and started looking up everything they could about the different illustrations.  We learned quite a bit about the Old Parchment Esther Scroll and the Hours and Psalter of Elizabeth de Bohun among many other parchments and art.
What I loved was the smaller picture and then the large illustration that we could color right next to it and scriptures pages were included.

The pages are still very thick and did not bleed through at all when I used paint, markers, crayons and colored pencils. I did not try a sharpie on these pages but it's the same weight of paper so I assume there might be some bleeding if sharpies were used.

Last but not least the Faith & Lettering Journal

Faith & Lettering Journal

Faith & Lettering Journal

DESCRIPTION:

New from professional letterer Krystal Whitten! With guides, instructions, and tutorials, this is a fun and inspiring way to create beauty with words. It is the perfect place for journalers to practice Bible journaling, lettering quotes and verses, or decorating a page with original thoughts and plans. Exploring your God-given creativity has never been so rewarding.

OK this was what I've been looking for! I need help learning how to do fancy or fun lettering and like I previously said, "I"m a perfectionist." So that makes me not even want to get started because I know I'll be messing up a bunch.

Guess what??? There's a begin here section and then a trace section and then your turn section and then practice, practice, practice
It's really EXACTLY what I needed! The begin here I went over with pencil several times just to get the hang of it and then I grabbed a marker and started tracing and yes I will be moving on to the practice part today, I promise. The pages are still very thick and did not bleed through at all when I used markers, and colored pencils. I did not try a sharpie on these pages but it's the same paper weight as the other 2 journals. I assume there might be some bleeding if sharpies were used.  There's also a pen loop on this journal.  Go grab one or all of them and get started!  Links will take you directly to the Worthy Publishing pages where you can learn more or follow links to purchase all of the journals.

Thanks for reading,

I did receive 3 free journals but the review is all me and my opinions!

Indivisible Movie review and giveaway

Official Trailer:

About the movie:

INDIVISIBLE  is  based  on  the  extraordinary  true  story  of  Army  Chaplain  Darren  Turner  and  his  wife  Heather.  With  a  strong,  faith-filled  marriage,  the  Turners  are  ready  to  follow  their  calling:  serving  God,  family,  and  country.    Fresh  from  seminary  and  basic  training,  Chaplain  Turner  and  his  family  arrive  at  Fort  Stewart.  Yet  before  the  Turners  can  even  unpack  their  new  house,  Darren  is  deployed  to  Iraq.  Heather  is  left  taking  care  of  their  three  young  children  alone  ...  as  well  as  serving  the  families  of  the  other  deployed  soldiers.  Despite  a  desire  to  stay  connected  with  their  loved  ones,  the  harsh  realities  of  war  take  a  daily  toll  over  the  course  of  the  Battalion’s  extended  deployment.  Meanwhile  back  home,  babies  are  born,  kids  keep  growing,  and  nerves  are  frayed  with  every  late-night  knock  on  the  door.  With  deeply  etched  battle  scars,  the  soldiers’  long-awaited  homecoming  is  much  different  than  any  of  their  families  anticipated.  Carrying  burdens  the  other  can’t  comprehend,  the  Turners  must  decide  if  they’re  willing  to  face  one  more  battle:  the  fight  to  save  their  marriage.  From  the  director  of  The  Grace  Card  and  the  studio  that  brought  you  Fireproof  and  War  Room  comes  INDIVISIBLE,  the  story  of  one  marriage  ...  one  family  ...  under  God.  In  theaters  beginning  October  26,  the  movie  stars  Sarah  Drew,  Justin  Bruening,  Jason  George,  Tia  Mowry,  and  Madeline  Carroll.

Sharing from my heart:

I wasn't sure what to expect when I was first asked to blog about this movie, but just knew that I wanted to review it.  It blew me away and is another faith based movie that's going to change lives as well as feed your soul. We have some family members that are in the military not the Army but the Air Force and the Navy.  It doesn't matter which branch of service you've served in or have family members that serve in it's still a different lifestyle that most of us civilians will never understand. It's hard on everyone in the whole family, the spouse, the children and of course the person that's serving our country.  INDIVISIBLE gives you a glimpse of why the divorce rate is so high with our military and what a difference our chaplains make on a daily basis. They impact lives in ways that we never know!  INDIVISIBLE is a movie you won't want to miss and I think everyone we know can relate to it.  I know it made me stop and pray for everyone I know that is serving our country in the military.  Opening night is October 26th, 2018 so head out and see it!

I've never been to a Passion Conference but I've heard so many wonderful things about them.  I know there are several coming up in the next couple of months for more info click on the following link Passion Conference dates 2018

The music is incredible and so anointed, you can feel the raw passion for Christ as they sing and praise His name.  I love this album and plan on playing it each Sunday as we drive to church so we have our hearts ready to praise Him. Every song is something that will make you want to worship but my all time personal favorite that I put on repeat and just played over and over was Great Are You Lord.  I know you'll enjoy all of these wonderful artists as they worship and praise our Saviour.
