Notable Novelists-game review

Since I come from a family of readers and I can be found reading almost all of the time I thought Notable Novelists would be a terrific game for our family.  I was wrong, my children and husband didn't get into the game at all.  However, I do think that other families that are avid readers but with a little bit older children would really enjoy this game.  It offers some great facts about each of the deceased authors and I thought it was a lot of fun.
With a 54 card deck they weren't able to include all of the famous authors but they included many that appeared on the "top 100 books of the 20th centruy". Many are Pulitzer, Nobel and National Book Critics Circle Award Winners.

There are 3 types of cards and the object is to collect the most literary sets (18 in all).

There are 18 Literary Sets in the deck. Each Literary Set contains three cards:

1. Author Card includes the author's name, portrait and birth/death date. I loved the caricatures of the artists on these cards.

2. Library Card includes 3 important books by the author.

3. Bio Card includes a piece of biographical info about the author.

You need all 3 cards to make a Literary Set.

• 54 Playing Cards

• 1 Instruction Card

• Ages 12+

• 2 or more players

the game is $10.95 and can be purchased here, Notable Novelists

Printed on recycled paper with soy inks!

Thanks for reading,
