Homemade chocolate syrup

So as you know, I ran out of some breakfast supplies this past weekend and had to make due with what we had. Kylan REALLY wanted his chocolate milk so after my success with the pancake syrup I decided to try homemade chocolate syrup. Let me tell you the taste is indescribable and we will NOT be going back to store bought chocolate syrup ever again! I'm not a big chocolate milk drinker but I could totally get hooked on this stuff it's AWESOME and it fills your whole house with the most wonderful, chocolate aroma! YUMMY!!! We have been reading the Little House on the Prairie series and they are such a thrifty family and they re-used and recycled everything that they could, it's amazing to hear all the things they did. This got me to thinking about all of the things that we just buy because we can. Why don't we make syrup or chocolate syrup? Why do I buy it? HMMM, I think it's because I always have bought it and didn't know how to make it, it's not hard to make and I'm not lazy so from now on I will be posting about all of the things we make instead of buying them. Plus I know what the ingredients are and they don't have all of these crazy names that I can't pronounce. I'll keep you updated...my next homemade item is going to homemade marshmallows...I saw them on the cooking channel on TV and they looked amazing so I'm up for the challenge. How about you?

Here is the recipe for the choco syrup and it only takes one spoon of this stuff and your milk is REALLY chocolaty!
